Sofa in Living / Family Room

A living room is the most important room of any house. It is the room in which people spend the most time in. That is why you will want to keep it as attractive looking as possible. This will not only make you feel good when being in it, but it will also impress any guests that you invite over as well. The best way to make a living room look nice is to have the right sofa in it. After all, a sofa is the centerpiece of any living room. Not only is it used for sitting and sleeping, but it can simply be admired just by looking at it. At companies like SCS and others, Sofas come in all sizes and more importantly, all kinds of fabrics. You can also find sofas made out of leather, which is a popular choice amongst consumers. The only downside to leather sofas is that it tears a lot easier and it is harder to repair. That is why they are better for looking at rather than to actually use. This is especially true if you have pets, such as dogs and cats. They will claw and tear through the leather of the sofa within the first week of purchasing it. If you don’t have pets and just want to buy a nice looking sofa to impress your guests, then leather will work fine.

Most people that buy sofas actually want to use them a lot though. This means you will need a sofa that has durable fabric, but yet still soft and warm when touching it. There is a new fabric on the market called “Microfiber,” which is a lightweight fabric that is synthetic and durable at the same time. It feels warm and soft just like leather, but with more durability. However, no matter which fabric you choose for your sofa you need to pay attention to the size of the sofa that you are purchasing. For example, if you live in a 10,000 square foot house then you will need a much bigger sofa than somebody who lives in a 1,200 square foot house. You need to be able to fill your living room with a sofa and take away as much negative empty space as possible. Most people live in houses between 1000-2000 square feet, so a 3 seat sofa will probably be ideal for the layman family. As for things like colors and patterns of the fabric, that is really up to you. We all have different tastes when it comes to color, so pick one that you feel represents you and your family.
